Jackie Buntan talks about Smilla Sundell’s “bad habit” which makes her dangerous

Jackie Buntan believes that Smilla Sundell’s ability to beat her opponents is what makes her so dangerous.

Buntan knows firsthand how tough Sundell is, having shared the ring with the reigning ONE strawweight Muay Thai world champion a little over a year ago at ONE 156. To this day, Buntan has yet to lose under the ONE Championship banner. He is determined to get revenge.

Speaking to ONE Championship, Jackie Buntan shared his thoughts on the famous Swede and what makes him so difficult to deal with:

“He’s got power behind him, he’s very tall… I feel like he can do well because he has a bad habit of getting stuck. But it depends on who he’s competing against.”

Smilla Sundell has not competed since her win Jackie Buntan last year, but with the Boxing Works product scoring a big win over Aussie standout Diandra Martin on ONE Fight Night 10, he could find himself in line for ONE championship rematch. Since their first meeting, Buntan has won back to back, making him a clear contender.

Buntan is also keen to make history and become the first ONE strawweight kickboxing world champion. The question is, which opportunity will he get first?

Meanwhile, Smilla Sundell will make her kickboxing debut under the ONE Championship banner, when she faces Milana Bjelogric at ONE Friday Fights 18 on May 26.

If you missed Jackie Buntan’s spectacular knockout, or just want to relive one of the most exciting nights in ONE Championship history, the ONE Fight Night 10 reruns can be viewed via Amazon Prime Video in North America.
