Earlier this month, Joy-Anna Duggar welcomed her third childa boy who chose the Duggar-like name of Gunner.
It may be a while before Young Gunner gets to use a gun, but his name is a reflection of the Duggar family’s love for all things firearms.
However, Joy seems to be enjoying life as a mother of three, and has been posting regular updates about her new bundle of joy.
But she hasn’t forgotten about her other children, of course, and Joy’s latest posts have highlighted her daughter, Evelyn.
“Bailing hay today,” Joy captioned the photo above.
The children got to drive tractors and learned how to store hay in the winter.
Joy also shared a photo of Gunner, who apparently bonded with her while watching the scene.
Now, all day long they look innocent and good, but mom is putting the Duggars to shame is one of the most popular games on the Internet, so commenters were quick to fire Joy’s parenting choices.
“Shouldn’t you be at home in the hot weather with a baby?”[?]” someone asked, According to UK tabloid The sun.
“Children are beautiful, but not having feet on a tractor and a farm is a solution to big problems. Take it from someone who grew up in the fields,” added another.
“A little girl needs to wear shoes when she’s near farming equipment, please be careful! Cute pictures with dad,” a third chimed in.
Fortunately, Joy has been a Duggar all her life, so she probably likes to criticize the nonsense in everything she does.
As for Gunner’s name, it seems it was a second last thought.
A few weeks before the boy’s birth, Joy revealed that she was leaning towards naming him James in honor of her grandfather Austin.
“Just to let you guys know, we are using James as a first or middle name. I think he will probably be used as a middle name,” Joy wrote in response to a fan question,
“Austin’s father passed away a few years ago, and he told him before he died that our next child would be with ‘James’. He agreed to do that.
“We’re going to have a hybrid James somewhere,” he continued.
“His name was Edwin James Forsyth, and it was about using his name and honoring him in that way.”
In the end he went with James as a middle name, so he still pays homage to Austin’s gramps.
And if he were alive he would be thankful that Joy and Austin didn’t name their son Edwin.
It’s bad enough there a son named Spurgeon in this family!
