Superstar quarterback Russell Wilson made a name for himself in the NFL as a team leader Seattle Seahawkswho won a Super Bowl title with him under center and head coach Pete Carroll calling the shots from the sideline.
Ahead of the 2022 NFL season, Wilson was ready to move on and force a trade to the Denver Broncos, and things did not go as planned for the veteran player and his new team.
Ironically, the Seahawks had an amazing season with Geno Smith under center and came to a game that no one saw coming, agreeing that Seattle was at the beginning of a rebuilding process.
As for the Broncos, Wilson and Company struggled throughout the season and failed to live up to expectations, which resulted in them missing the playoffs and many questioning whether the perennial Pro Bowler was successful.
In 2023, the Seahawks will let someone else wear No. 3 on their jersey in Seattle, and Fox Sports’ Joy Taylor thinks there’s nothing wrong with that via Talk on FS1.

As Taylor makes clear, Wilson took control of his own destiny and left the Seahawks strong, so why should the team honor him at this point, considering he’s now a contender and playing for another franchise.
Next season, cornerback Artie Burns will wear No. 3, who wore No. 21 in Seattle last season.
Although it seems like a shot for Wilson, the team needs to move, and maybe when Wilson retires, things will change, but until then, Burns will be the No. 1 game. 3 for this time.
