On Monday, veteran right-hander Luis Castillo took the mound for Seattle Mariners in their home opener against the Oakland Athletics at T-Mobile Park.
The two-time All-Star had a great performance for the Mariners on Monday, pitching six scoreless innings and allowing just four hits and two walks, striking out eight batters and leading the Mariners to an 11-2 victory.
However, with eight races, he did something amazing.
His fifth hit of the night puts him at 1,000 for his career.
On Twitter, the Mariners posted a fun photo to celebrate Castillo’s recent accomplishment, congratulating him on his 1,000th hit.

Castillo picked up his third win of the season and lowered his ERA to 2.97.
The veteran right-hander made his MLB debut with the Cincinnati Reds in 2017.
Last season, the Mariners acquired the 30-year-old from the Reds in a blockbuster trade and eventually extended his contract.
Castillo has been locked up for the next five years and is already off to a good start in his second year with the Mariners.
He now has 66 hits on the season and 1,003 in his career.
In 158 games with the Reds and Mariners, Castillo has a 51-57 record with a 3.55 ERA in 915.1 innings of work.
Last season, the right-hander won eight games and finished with a 2.99 ERA after making 25 starts with Cincinnati and Seattle.
Castillo is now the Mariners’ staff leader as he helped lead the team to a 23-game winning streak.
