In 2022, Samsung upgraded the screen on the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro, and launched it again Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. The Galaxy Watch 5 will replace it Galaxy Watch 4while the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is the successor to the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic.

Price, availability and specifications
As you might expect, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 is the cheaper of the two watches. The basic version of the Watch 5 – which offers Bluetooth connectivity and a 40mm casing – cost £269 in the UK and $279 in the US. The the basic version of the Watch 5 Pro costs £429 in the UK meanwhile, it’s $449 in the US, which makes it expensive. Considering the added features and advanced built-in features offered by the Pro version, that’s what you’d expect.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 comes in two sizes 40mm and 44mm, and three colors Graphite, Silver and Pink Gold. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro is only offered in a 45mm case and comes in two colors: Gray Titanium and Black Titanium. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 offers a slightly sportier look than the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, which is chunkier overall. In contrast to Watch 4 Classicthere is no round bezel anywhere to be seen on the Watch 5 Pro however, although the Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro have a digital bezel and two function buttons.
The Watch 5 comes in two sizes as we briefly mentioned, with 40mm and 44mm options. You will also find several different finishes for aluminum cases. Graphite and Silver are optional in both models, while Pink Gold is available in the 40mm model and sapphire in the 44mm model. There are also several wristband options to choose from, with the exclusive Bora Purple for the 40mm model and sapphire for the 44mm model.
The Watch 5 Pro is available in one size: 45mm. So it’s the bigger of the two, and it’s thicker than normal. It is available in Gray and Black, but the case is titanium – making it lighter and stronger than the standard version.
All models are 5ATM waterproof to ensure they can survive, and be used for tracking water activities. They are too IP68 waterproof and dustproof and MIL-STD-810H.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 40mm model comes with a 1.19-inch display with a resolution of 396 x 396 pixels that provides a pixel density of 330ppi. The Watch 5 44mm model and the Watch 5 Pro both come with a 1.36-inch display with 450 x 450 pixels, which also results in 330ppi.
All are Super AMOLED displays and all models have Sapphire Crystal Glass on top, but the Pro model comes with an ‘extra’ crystal, for durability and stability. It is said that the Pro version is 2x stronger than the Watch 4 series, while the Watch 5 version is 1.6x stronger.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro both run the latest version of the Wear OS 3 and Samsung’s One UI on top so they provide a very similar user interface and experience.
They provide the same information, such as heart rate monitoring, monitor sleep and REM stages, fall detection, many types of sports, ECG, blood pressure, blood pressure, and physical appearance. All this was given at Watch 4 mode
There are updates on the 2022 models as well. All of them – for example – have an updated user interface for sleep tracking to give you a clear, in-depth view of your sleep patterns, and tips on how to help them.
Pro also has its own dedicated equipment, aimed mainly at those who enjoy outdoor activities such as trail / downhill running and mountain climbing. You will be able to use the watch to look at the map, and use ‘Track Back’ to find your way back to where you started if you get lost.
In addition, after an intense workout, the watch tracks your heart rate to see how you’re recovering and gives you guidance on how much hydration to take right after you’re done.

In terms of hardware and specs, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro are both available as Bluetooth-only and LTE models.
The Watch 5 Pro offers a large battery; the Watch 5 40mm model has a 284mAh battery which is a slight jump from the Watch 4 which has a 247mAh battery. The 44mm version has a 410mAh battery.
The Watch 5 Pro on the other hand, has a larger 590mAh, which is very different from the Watch 5 version. It means that you will get three or four days of battery life from a full charge instead of just one or two. Both models use the same Exynos W920 processor.
All models have a blood oxygen sensor, electricity and light heart rate, body image analysis, skin temperature sensor and all the time, such as barometer, gyroscope, built-in GPS and compass.
Conclusion: Should you buy the Galaxy Watch 5 or the Watch 5 Pro?
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro may be the most expensive yet, but it will also be a great option for many people. Even if you’re not an outdoor enthusiast, the larger battery means you don’t have to charge it almost every night, and the premium and durable materials resist scratches and scuffs well. It’s one of our favorite WearOS devices.
