The Phoenix Suns made the call to part ways with coach Monty Williams after a heartbreaking loss to the Denver Nuggets.
New owner Mat Ishbia has taken action and is allowing nothing but greatness as he chases the NBA’s first championship.
With that in mind, Shams Charania of The Athletic reported that the Suns have narrowed their coaching search to five finalists: Nick Nurse, Frank Vogel, Doc Rivers, Sacramento Kings assistant Jordi Fernandez, and Suns assistant Kevin Young.

Of course, Young makes sense because it would give the team continuity, always giving them a breath of fresh air, which makes it easier to change from the time of Monty Williams.
Fernandez has become a household name around the league in player development over the past few years, and he brings experience behind Mike Malone and Mike Brown, so he’s an interesting choice.
However, he may not have the pedigree to compete against tough guys like Kevin Durant.
Vogel comes with a lot of experience and won a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers, and rebuilt their defense in the blink of an eye.
Rivers has coached his fair share of elite players, so he knows how to deal with egos and winning attitudes, but he’s not particularly good when it comes to Xs and Os and making game-changing changes.
Finally, Nurse became his antagonist, a technical expert who has some problems with player management.
