Search Labs, too, is not open to all. But, two weeks after announcing Search Labs at Google I/O, Google is announcing a waiting list for the program. In this guide, we talk about Google Search Labs, explore its impact on search, and provide step-by-step instructions on how to get on the waiting list.

What is Google Search Labs?

Google Search Labs is a new program that allows you to access and test Google Search experiments. It serves as a platform for users to provide feedback, allowing Google to refine and improve its AI search features before they are released. By participating in Search Labs, you can stay up-to-date with the latest advances in AI search technology. It is a testing ground for new products, including the highly anticipated Search Generative Experience (SGE).

What is Google Search Generative Experience (SGE)?

SGE aims to revolutionize the search experience by providing AI-generated summaries at the top of the results, helping you quickly find what’s important. Instead of relying on search results, where you go through a list of blue links, you will receive paragraphs of information related to your search. It’s like ChatGPT, but baked into Google Search. In short: SGE has the potential to redefine the way we search for information.

Using the power of AI-generated summaries, you’ll get concise and relevant information step by step. It’s a big change in search, and it can change user behavior and the types of queries that are made. SGE will still provide selected links for re-browsing, however, to increase your overall browsing experience.
